Today's the day where love is the thickest in the air. Good old Valentine's Day, when Cupid's busy shooting stranger's with arrows and making them swoon for each other.

You know what else is in the air today? My plants- because I made them cute little hanging macrame holders. I've been digging macrame a lot lately, and had never tried it. It's actually a relaxing process, although taxing on your hands, but so worth it with the results. I made myself one and then decided I'd make my son's teacher one as well.

I started out with what I thought was 8 strings of 12ft long yarn- it was 9 accidentally- oops. 🤷♀️ Put them all through the ring so that they were split at their halfway point, and cut another 3 ft long string and made a hidden gathering knot around the strings. I then separated them into 4 groups of 4, which is when I realized I must have made 9, because I had to make a few groups larger to compensate.

I still don't know the technical terms for the knots so I'm not much help here, but I start off doing the same direction knots to create a spinning effect and then left some space before doing a group of straight knots where you rotate which side the knot starts on. You do this same type of knot when you're finishing the net portion, grabbing two strings from one group of four and two of it's neighboring group and do the knot, then continue around until you're happy with your net. Finish it off with a knot, and you have yourself a plant holder!
