I won't pretend to know anything concrete about pressure points. I know that they exist and can be helpful for many things including stress.
While researching this topic, I realized that some of my "self-soothing" habits I have when I'm overstimulated, having anxiety, or a panic attack include a few pressure points. Self-soothing in most situations is involuntarily for me and I wasn't subconsciously aware I was doing pressure points. I found that interesting. I have to wonder if my body instinctively attempts to protect itself. It's possible I've learned this before and forgot but my brain remembers it in moments of stress. I'm sure someone knows how all that stuff works, I'm not that someone.
I'm linking some sites from people that know about pressure points. I knew of the shoulder pressure points. They're my favorite ones. I tend to hold most of my stress there, so it feels amazing when pressed during a massage. I learned a couple new ones, including the third eye or Yin Tang. As well as Tai Chong on the top of the foot in the webbing between the first and second toes. I was also surprised to learn I already "knew" some, of course I'm using knew loosely. I'll elaborate more on this and my self-soothing habits at another time though.
