March 19th 2020: Sewing Projects

I'm not a seamstress, I wing almost everything I sew. Sometimes I start a project with gusto and it quickly fizzles out. I don't have the attention span for some of these ideas I have and I often underestimate how difficult they are.

For instance, I told my daughter I would sew her some doll clothes, fully intending on making an outfit for every doll. I botched the first three things I tried to make, even though I was following a tutorial... I got overwhelmed and since she refused to let me get away with not making anything, I kept making awful things. I hate the clothes I made, they look really bad. That being said, my daughter loves them, and bless her sweet little heart, she really means it! She's not just being nice because I flopped.

Some projects I surpise myself with how well they turn out despite my lack of sewing talent, like this dogman costume I made for my son for book character day at school.

I do still plan on redeeming myself with the doll clothes.
